Save the date February 15, 2016 at 6pm for a great opportunity to share your opinions of the MPO and local transportation planning with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Authority (FTA). The event will take place in the Huntsville City Council Chambers, first floor of City Hall, 308 Fountain Circle, Huntsville, AL 35801.
Every four years, the Huntsville-Area Metropolitan Planning Organization undergoes a comprehensive review of transportation planning by the FHWA and FTA. These federal organizations want to hear from you. Part of the review process is a public meeting.
The FHWA tries not to get project-specific at these meetings. Their purpose is to look at the transportation planning process as a whole. Some sample questions asked at prior federal review public meetings are:
- Are you provided with the opportunity to participate in the transportation planning and programming process?
- Do you receive adequate notice of transportation planning and programming activities?
- What are the positive aspects of the transportation planning process?
- What suggestions do you have for improving the process?
Comment cards will be available for those who do not want to get up and speak at the meeting. The comment period will be open 30 days after the event.
The MPO staff hopes to see you there.
